With the completion of this year’s monsoon planting, we are delighted to announce the successful completion of our three-year reforestation programme in Bhussinga, Nepal.

Between 2024 and 2026, local communities planted 25,000 trees, including:

🍒 Cherry
🌰 Walnut
🌰 Chestnut
🌰 Almond
🍋 Lemon
🍊 Orange
🍃 Tea
🌲 Native Pine
🎋 Bamboo

Carefully chosen to benefit both people and nature, these trees will provide families with sustainable sources of income while restoring forests, stabilising vulnerable hillsides, increasing biodiversity and protecting the landscape for future generations.

Over the next decade, this single project is expected to sequester around 5,000 tonnes of carbon, making a meaningful contribution to tackling climate change while directly improving local livelihoods.

This achievement has only been possible through the dedication of the local communities, our partners at Nepal Evergreen (NEG), and everyone who has supported The Juniper Trust.

Planting trees is about far more than carbon. It is about creating healthier landscapes, stronger communities and a better future for the next generation.
