At Bhupsa, Nepal, we have just completed a new phase of planting, with 820 trees now in the ground. This includes 820 fruit trees, made up of 400 apple trees, 300 walnut, 60 kiwi, 30 pear and 30 peach, which will provide long-term food security and income opportunities for local families.
By bringing previously abandoned terraces back into productive use, the Bhupsa project aims to strengthen local livelihoods, improve soil condition and rebuild a resilient landscape that supports both people and the environment over the long term.
With all 820 trees now planted, we are currently assessing additional areas and species for potential further planting during the upcoming monsoon season, when survival rates are highest.
