The first 2,500 saplings — part of a 10,000-tree programme — have arrived in Bhussinga, on the slopes below Pikey Peak in Nepal’s lower Solu Khumbu region.

This key site for the Nepal Evergreen project spans 15 hectares, combining native trees and bamboo to restore soil, biodiversity and capture carbon, alongside fruit trees to support sustainable local income. This first phase includes apricot, peach and walnut saplings.

It also marks our first project working with ONCRA to monitor carbon sequestration — with the aim of issuing verified carbon certificates and creating a model to fund future projects.

A big thank you to the local volunteer team coordinating nursery, transport and planting — now fully underway.

Let’s plant 100,000 trees in Nepal !
