The first 2,500 trees are now planted in Bhussinga, on the slopes below Pikey Peak — part of our wider 10,000-tree programme with Nepal Evergreen.
This 15-hectare site combines:
🌿 Native trees & bamboo — restoring soil, biodiversity & capturing carbon
🍑 Fruit trees — creating sustainable local income
Phase 1 included apricot, peach and walnut saplings — now fully in the ground thanks to an incredible local team 👏
Phase 2 is now confirmed (from 28 April) with a further 2,500 trees:
* Apricot (500)
* Peach (800)
* Pear (1,000)
* Almond (200)
This is also our first project working with ONCRA, monitoring carbon sequestration with the aim of issuing verified carbon certificates — helping fund future projects.
Huge thanks to everyone involved — more updates soon as planting continues 🌱
